There are a lot of people out there that have no idea that their water heater is getting ready to fail. One is that the pilot light may have gone out or that the circuit breaker may have tripped somehow. The last of the three elements may be that the water heater has come to the end of its life or that you need water heater repair right away.
  3. Water That’s Muddy or Sandy Looking Means What? – Water that is muddy or sandy in look may mean that you have a build-up of sediment in the water tank itself. Water heater repair may or may not be needed here. The contents can be drained and the residue removed to get the water heating back in operation.
  4. Water Has Metal Smell and Or Taste – If the water from your water heater smells or tastes like metal, this can very well mean, you do need water heater repair or replacement. It is a sure sign that the water heater is about to die and grit/ flakes have come from the inner tank and are mingling with the water of your water supply.
  5. Water Is Warm but Not Hot – If the water from your water heater feels warm but not hot, this could be that the heating element is burning out. Make sure that the thermostat is set at the temperature of 120 and 140 degrees. If the temperature is lower than this, it can make the water warm and not hot.

It’s good to know things to look for when a water heater is giving trouble or is on the verge of dying out altogether. If water heater repair keeps adding up, it may be time for a water heater replacement completely.
