Rachel McCord has been a part of The Ridge Project, a non-profit organization empowering individuals and improving the lives of Ohio civilians, for many years. McCord is passionate about helping others and enhancing the lives of others. The Ridge Project was built to educate, motivate and inspire younger generations coming from families who have struggled. Whether it being mental or physical, The Ridge Project is constantly working towards restoring families and empowering the generations to have a life filled with responsibility and passion to live better lives.
McCord has partnered with The Ridge Project to inspire, protect and give hope to these at-risk teens. She understands and can relate to them, helping to develop positive characteristics within these individuals. McCord grew up in Georgia, going from trailer park to trailer park, struggling to support herself and her family, dealing with trauma and anxiety. She learned skills to protect herself, and how to teach others. She is now able to share these skills in order to make the state of Ohio (and the rest of the world) a better and safer place.
It is easier to listen and trust someone when they have been in those shoes and been through similar situations. This is why The Ridge Project youth allow themselves to be vulnerable and connect with Rachel McCord, and that is why she continues to do it. The true connection, love and passion she has for this group of people is continuous and builds her own personal strength.
The Ridge Project is actively collaborating with churches and faith-based organizations, as they believe that the physical, mental and spiritual help is founded on Jesus Christ and biblical principles. The organization “empowers generational responsibility within individuals and families” and that is where Rachel McCord makes a difference.
