Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is an entrance exam conducted for students to get admission in various engineering colleges in India. It conducts two different examinations namely
- JEE Main
- JEE Advanced
The questions for these examinations are of MCQ type. The students who are selected in JEE Main are eligible for appearing in JEE Advanced. JEE Advanced is one of the most challenging undergraduate admission tests. To get admissions in colleges like NITs, IIITs and centrally funded technical institutes, JEE Main is written and for admission in IITs, JEE Advanced is written by students.
JEE Main
Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE Main) has two papers namely,
- Paper 1 – Admission to B.E/B.Tech courses
- Paper 2 – Admission in B.Arch and B.Planning courses.
JEE Main has a fixed exam structure containing thirty multiple choice questions in each of the three subjects namely physics, chemistry and maths. It follows the corresponding marking scheme. 4 marks are awarded for correct answers and 1 mark is reduced for incorrect answers. JEE Main is conducted by the NTA (National Testing Agency). JEE Main Examination Procedure
The JEE main conducts examinations in two shifts. The duration of the exam is 3 hours. The morning session is from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and afternoon session is from 2:30 pm up till 5:30 pm. JEE Main paper 1 exam is conducted online. The students who are appearing for exams, should log in using their application number and password. Date of birth is used to access the question papers, answers and responses.
Things To Do Before Exam
Before appearing for the examination, you should have an idea about the marking scheme, exam pattern and type of questions that would appear.
