Things You Need To Know Before You Take The B1 Exam

Different sorts of B1 Exams that are required to be taken

There are two types of B1 exam:

  • B1 GESE Grade 5: You need to pass and have a minimum qualification of Secure English Language Test (SELT) in at least CEFR level B1 in speaking and listening if you want to apply for citizenship in the country of British or to settle therein. This first type of exam that is, the B1 GESE Grade 5 exam takes only ten minutes during which your skills related to speaking and listening will be tested.   • B1 SELT – ISE I: Again you must pass a Secure English Language Test(SELT) at least CEFR level B1 test in writing, reading, speaking and listening to opt for:

  • Indefinite leave to remain
  • Citizenship of the British country

This ISE I exam covers and finds four skills in you, that is, reading, writing, speaking and listening. You get your result the same day and a certificate is usually sent within 21 days.

Do you have the right documents?

Anyone who wants or is willing to give a B1 test then they will need any one of the following, valid and not expired, documents:

  • Valid passport or Swiss National ID cards.
  • Valid Biometric Residence Permit
  • Travel Document issued by the UNITED NATIONS or the Red Cross Valid Vignette attached to an Immigration Status Document.
